ABOUT

Derron Sandy is one of the Caribbean’s leading performance poets and creative educators. With nearly two decades of experience, he captivates audiences of all ages and provides creative solutions for entertainment, education, marketing, and corporate events. Sandy is a published author, multi-level educator, creative director, and award-winning performer.

COMMUNITY

Sandy is the founder of the arts-based performance NGO, The Quays Foundation. He gives back to his community by creating a space for young people to thrive in the performing arts. He also served as the Artistic Director of the spoken word organization, The 2 Cents Movement, from 2017 to 2023.

EDUCATOR

He holds a Master of Arts in Literatures in English and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the West Indies. He is a university tutor and has delivered guest lectures. He is also the founder of Cool Creatives, an online educational hub for young writers.

PUBLICATIONS

Sandy published his first poetry collection, The Chaos, in 2023 and a children’s book on immigration as part of a special project by the Pan American Development Foundation in 2020.
